First Post

Hello All -

I want to let everyone my goal with this blog. I have lived 6 years diagnosed with Celiac Disease and I LOVE going out to eat. Dinner, Lunch, or Breakfast... I love it all. I also enjoy getting drinks but as many folks know with Celiac Disease or a Wheat/Gluten intolerance know that it can be difficult to go out and get a great meal.

I'm here to try to make that easier for all you. I will be reviewing all types of restaurants from National Chains to local Boston Area Eateries and even some Spots when I travel. There are REALLY some GREAT spots to eat within the New England area that are super accommodating and have knowledgeable staff.

I want to start out with a little warning... If you are trying to eat Gluten Free or have to eat Gluten Free/ Wheat Free there are some things to watch out for when going out to eat....

First; your SERVER is the liaison between you and the kitchen so they are KEY in having you have a great experience. If your Server has NO clue what you are talking about when you bring up "Gluten Free" options be NERVOUS! Ask to speak to the manager or request to speak directly with the Chef!

Second, Ask what is in everything and if sauces are bottled ask to see the labels.

Third, If the Chef and or the manager do not seem to be accommodating LEAVE the restaurant. There is no harm in leaving if they are not going to look out for your best interest.

I have done all of the above and I think that it has been affective as I have not had any issues in about a year.

So with that being said.... I will be reviewing Anello's Cafe in Portsmouth NH next week. Until then check out their website: http://www.anelloscafe.com
